Bisha membership fees for 2005

Date Posted : 1st January 2005

After much deliberation and a couple of years of absorbing the rising costs of insurance, it is with some regret that BiSHA have announced a small amount rise in membership fees for the forthcoming season.

Over the last few years BiSHA have had to bear the brunt of very steep insurance premium rises due to the 9/11 action and other factors such as the “claim for everything” culture that has been developing in our country recently. The fact that our sport has relatively few claims compared with the likes of Football, Rugby and others, unfortunately this has no bearing on the premiums the Insurance companies share among their clients. Added to this BiSHA have had other cost rises that we have, as stated, tried to absorb, and BiSHA, even as a non-profit organisation cannot sustain this on our present income.

Unfortunately due to the present climate, falling numbers in membership does nothing to aid BiSHA in their efforts to provide it's members with the best National Championships, Internationals and Regional tournaments in the sport.

BiSHA have tried to keep the rises to a minimum and where the previous memberships fees were above £20.00 they have added only £2.00. For the fees of £20 and below they have added only £1.00.

BiSHA have also added the new categories of membership to aid both the Association and Regions by encouraging all persons connected with the sport to be covered at a rate that reflects their level of involvement. BiSHA have taken every step to ensure that costs are kept to a minimum.

Please Note:

ALL BiSHA (non-regional) Membership Forms shall be sent directly to BiSHA Membership Director for approval and processing. All Members (Players, Officials, Managers, Committee Members etc.) will not be considered as officially registered as an association member until all forms and money have been received by the BiSHA Membership Director. Forms and money must be with BiSHA Membership Director prior to any player or official taking any part in league, region or club business. It is essential in this present climate that all persons who have any capacity within the sport, be they committee members, managers, coaches or players must be registered as BiSHA members at some level. If a committee member is also a player then that person need only sign as a player and so on.
